Eddy current testing allows to find different types of defects (without tubes being dismantled), among others:- wall thickness loss throughout the length of the tube resulting from corrosion, erosion, pitting, friction against the supports, wear caused by sponge rubber balls
- technological and material defects
- dents
This testing method allows to eliminate the tubes with wall thickness loss exceeding tolerated border-line. Consequently we can reduce considerably the risk of breakdown as well as help to make decision on partial or complete re-tubing.
